Bauen für die 2000-Watt-Gesellschaft

Im Auftrag der Stadt Zürich entstand im ewz-Unterwerk Selnau zum Thema «Nachhaltiges Bauen» der «Energieberg»: 500 Karton-Würfel, bedruckt mit wegweisenden Bauten aus der Schweizer Architektur, türmten sich zu einer neun Meter hohen Installation. Inspiriert durch die Aufnahme einer Wärmebildkamera lieferte der charakteristische Farbverlauf die Vorlage für Ausstellung, Katalog und Plakat. Die Ausstellung entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit Holzer Kobler Architekturen.

 

Commissioned by the City of Zürich and hosted by the Selnau transformer substation, our «Energy Mountain» exemplifies «sustainable building» as a key ecological issue. It consists of a nine-meter high installation of 500 cardboard cubes that display pioneering accomplishments of Swiss architecture. Inspired by the image of a thermographic camera, the characteristic color gradation was used as a signature element for the exhibition, the catalog, and the poster. The exhibition was created in cooperation with Holzer Kobler Architekturen.
